Our Aerospace Special Processes

We work with NADCAP and customer approved suppliers who are able to offer a comprehensive range of surface treatments and special processes designed to enhance the performance and longevity of aerospace components. Below are the key processes we use

Sulphuric Acid Anodizing (MIL-PRF-8625F Type II Class (1 & 2)

Sulphuric acid anodizing enhances the corrosion resistance and wear properties of aluminum components, making it ideal for aerospace parts exposed to harsh environments. This process creates a protective oxide layer on the surface, improving both durability and aesthetic appearance.

Chromic Acid Anodizing (MIL-PRF-8625F Type I (Class 1)

Chromic acid anodizing is used to enhance the corrosion resistance of aluminum, particularly in applications where low weight is a priority. This treatment is used for aerospace components requiring high performance and environmental resistance.

Hard Anodizing (MIL-PRF-8625F Type III Class 1 & 2)

Hard anodizing provides a thicker oxide layer than regular anodizing, increasing the hardness and abrasion resistance of aluminum parts. It is ideal for aerospace applications such as engine components and landing gear parts that are subject to wear and high-stress conditions.

Chemical Conversion (MIL-DTL-5541 Type I & II)

Chemical conversion treatment is used to improve the corrosion resistance of metal parts, particularly aluminum, by creating a non-metallic layer. This process is often used as a preparatory step for subsequent coatings or to improve the adhesion of paints and sealants.

Stainless Steel Passivation (AMS 2700 F Type I, II, III, VI)

Passivation of stainless steel enhances its corrosion resistance by removing contaminants from the surface and promoting the formation of a protective oxide layer. This process is essential for parts exposed to aggressive environments in aerospace and space applications.

Painting (MIL-PRF-23377K, MIL-PRF-85285E, MIL-PRF-46010)

We provide high-performance painting services for aerospace components, ensuring that each part is protected from the elements and meets aesthetic and functional requirements. These coatings are resistant to abrasion, corrosion, and extreme temperatures.

Silver & Gold Plating on Aluminum, Stainless Steel, and Kovar/Invar Alloys
